A Living Hope
1 Peter 1:3-12
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,4 To an inheritance immortal and undefiled, and that withereth not, reserved in heaven for us, 5 Which are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation, which is prepared to be shewed in the last time. 6 Wherein ye rejoice, though now for a season (if need require) ye are in heaviness, through manifold temptations, 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perisheth (though it be tried with fire) might be found unto your praise, and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8 Whom ye have not seen, and yet love him, in whom now, though ye see him not, yet do you believe, and rejoice with joy unspeakable and glorious, 9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. 10 Of the which salvation the Prophets have inquired and searched, which prophesied of the grace that should come unto you, 11 Searching when or what time the Spirit which testified before of Christ which was in them, should declare the sufferings that should come unto Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they should minister the things, which are now shewed unto you by them which have preached unto you the Gospel by the holy Ghost sent down from heaven, the which things the Angels desire to behold.
